Customizable SEO Slugs for Your Posts

Butter Updates

Today we're launching the ability to customize the url slugs for your blog posts. Once you've saved (draft or publish) a post, you can edit the URL slug for that post. The initial default slug will be a slugified version of your post title.

For example, the title of this post is "Customizable SEO slugs for your posts" and the default slug that gets generated is "customizable-seo-slugs-for-your-posts". After the post is saved, click on "Edit Post Meta Information" and there's a new "Slug" input box where the url slug for the post can be completely customized.

Previously, any time the title was changed, the url slug for the post was updated to reflect the new title. However, sometimes this not the ideal behavior so once the slug is set after the initial save, it doesn't change unless you manually customize it.

In short, we've given you total control of your slug posts to enable maximum SEO goodness!
