Butter Updates

We're really excited to tell you about the improvements we finished in April!

Localization. Localización. Lokalisierung!

To expand on last month's release which focused on localization, we have another big improvement to our localization capabilities - we've added permissions for your users to control which locales they can access. So if you have a global team of content translators, you can now invite them individually to only the markets they should have access to.

For example, if you needed to add a new user in Egypt who will be responsible for your Arabic-speaking markets, you can invite them and give them access to your Arabic locales only:

This enables your global team of marketers and translators to work side-by-side, safely within Butter, with permissions to edit only their assigned local markets. This will be a great feature for large teams managing a global presence with a lot of content.

We also have a nice UI update where we've made the locale dropdown scrollable when you reach a large number of locales. So if you're dealing with 20+ locales, the dropdown options for locale will scroll to let you quickly find the appropriate locale.

We'd love to hear your feedback on our best-in-class localization capabilities!

Resizable preview panel and API Explorer

Another new feature is that our API Explorer panel and our content Preview panel are now resizable. Throughout the Butter dashboard, we make it really easy to work with our API. This nice little enhancement lets you drag and drop to resize the panel so you can easily see more of the content in the API response.

You can also drag and drop to resize the content Preview panel so you can focus on the dashboard and the content preview without switching tabs or windows:

This will make it really easy for your team to preview content, make updates, and see live changes happening all on the same screen - creating a much smoother workflow! Editing content and making quick revisions will be a much nicer experience overall.

Collection items UI

Another feature we shipped is a revamped UI for editing Collection items. This builds off of the work that we did with pages where we completely redesigned the UI to be more modern with a clean look and feel.

That's it for this month. Thank you for being a part of the Butter community and for all your input into the product!
